

James D. Blankenship age 69 of Fairborn passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton while surrounded by his loving family. He was born the son of Charlie & Martha (Honaker) Blankenship on October 16, 1946 in Richlands, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Benny Joe Blankenship, Jackie Darrel Blankenship, and Donald Blankenship; sisters Lois Willett, and Imagene Wilson; infant grandson Hunter Little. James is survived by his daughter Jamie (Jason) Little of Dayton; Jennifer Flowers who was like a daughter to him for many years; sisters Barbara Pettit and Shirley Swigert; grandchildren Angel, Brooklyn, and Connor; several nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed by all of those who love him. James was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting for the Cincinnati Reds, and the University of Dayton basketball team. In his free time enjoyed playing a round of golf, throwing darts, and bowling with his friends, and family. For several years James volunteered his time by coaching Fairborn Softball. Friends may call on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10AM-11AM at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home 119 E Main St. Fairborn, Ohio where services will be held at 11AM with Rev. Raymond Todd St. John. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Dayton for the care and compassion they were shown over the last several weeks.
