

LEE, (Gitzinger) Judith A., age 74 of Xenia passed into the arms of our Lord on July 15, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 23, 1943 to the late Elmer and Eleanora Gitzinger. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education and the University of Dayton with a Master’s degree in Counseling. She was retired from the Dayton Public Schools and also worked in Bellbrook, Northridge, and Fairborn. After graduation from Ohio State she entered the U.S. Air Force where she was an education and training officer and achieved the rank of Captain. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and the love of Thurman’s life and he will miss her dearly. She will also be remembered by her numerous students whose lives she influenced in so many ways. Judy enjoyed crocheting, writing, scrapbooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Left to mourn are her husband of 43 years, Thurman, her sons Gregory Lee and fiancé Amanda, Aaron Lee and wife Tracie, brothers Frank & Mike Gitzinger, sisters Janice Weigandt, Anita Combs, Patricia Lawrence, Darlene Gitzinger Brush and a host of friends and other relatives. Prayers will be Monday, July 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St, Fairborn, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple Ave, Fairborn, OH. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
