Col. Marion Taylor Evans Ret., age 95, of Fairborn, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2014 at Wright Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born the son of Walter H. & Bertha (West) Evans on September 27, 1918 in Leesburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen (Carter) Evans, and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Etta Mae. He is survived by his loving sons, Mike (Donna) Evans of Enon and Jim Evans of Piqua, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Col. Marion Taylor Evans served his country proudly with the United States Air Force. He served during World War II, flying many combat missions, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a full bird Colonel at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was a Master Mason at Leesburg Lodge 78 for 65 plus years.
