

Nelson, Collis “CB”, 91 passed away March 7, 2016. Collis was born to Bryant Crosby Nelson and Jewell Popplewell Nelson on July 5, 1924. He was a proud WWII veteran serving his country with the Navy Seabees 114th Battalion. Collis was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky Russell 284 and Valley 511, Society of Past Masters of Central Kentucky, Fairdale Order of Eastern Star #153, AmVets KY Post 61, Kosair Shriners International, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2173 and a Kentucky Colonel. Collis retired after many years from Motor Convoy, the former Dealer’s Transport. He was an avid dart player and gardener. Collis was preceded in death by his loving wife Marylyn Griffith Nelson and siblings: Randall Nelson, Eugene Nelson, Hugo Nelson, Edna Baldridge and Ruby Chandler. Collis is survived by his children: Daniel Nelson, David Nelson (Billie) and Donna Miller, grandchildren: Scott Nelson (Brittney) and Adam Nelson, great grandchildren: Alexis Nelson and Colin Nelson, sister Mayme Payne, sister-in-law Bea Nelson, several nieces and nephews and his fur-baby Dolly. Visitation will be Thursday from 12-7pm at Fairdale McDaniel Funeral Home with a Masonic Service to begin at 7pm, 411 Fairdale Rd. A Military burial will be held Friday at 12pm CST, 1pm EST at Concord Cemetery in Jamestown, KY. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Kosair Children’s Hospital.
