He was a retired welder/maintenance for American Air Filter, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Kosmosdale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Franke; wife, Mary Anna Franke; and children, Betty Kerrick and George Franke.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Thompson, John M. Franke and Margaret M. Twining; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
