Obituary of Barbara Dale Borg
Barbara D. Borg, 72, Fairfax, VA, formally of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Wed., July 21, 2021 at a hospital in Fairfax. Barbara was born in Sioux Falls, SD on April 23, 1949 and moved to Sioux City in 1961 with her family from Fargo, ND. She married Lee Allison in 1966 and together they had two daughters, Tami Lyn Allison and Staci Lee Allison Clark. She later married Rick Borg. They remained friends after their divorce and would visit when Barb came to town. Barbara worked at Mid-Step Services for 20 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Virginia with her daughter, Staci. Barbara loved to crochet blankets, read, play games, and bake. She loved cooking for her large family and hosting holiday dinners at her mother’s. She was known to start baking weeks in advance for the holidays, making a huge selection of cookies and desserts. She was known for her famous fried chicken dinners with rhubarb pie for dessert. Her greatest joys were family picnics and get togethers. She enjoyed music and dancing and as a teenager, she danced with The Darlings, a Go-Go dancing group. She was tapping her feet in time to music moments before her passing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with internment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tami Allison and her fiancee Larry Ellis; her daughter Staci Allison Clark and her husband Brad; 5 grandchildren, Jeremiah Schmitt, Kassandra Schmitt, Ryan Clark, David Clark, and Sam Clark; 5 great-grandchildren, Cooper Schmitt, Landon Johnson, Blake Schmitt, Kambry Schmitt, and Hazel Serrano; 3 brothers, Brad and his wife, Carol, Eric and his wife Dee; and Ronald; 3 sisters, Norma Stansberry and her husband, Lee; Debbie Carmen and her husband, Chuck; and Leila Redmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Martha Larvick; her brother, George Larvick; her brother in law, Rick Redmond; and her granddaughter, Tiffany Schmitt.
