Obituary of Gay Nell Jacks
Gay Nell "GG" Jacks, 74, of Fairfax, VA, born May 16th 1944, passed away on February 25, 2019. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James Jacks, Jr. Children Amber Lockhart Jacks and Darin Keith Jacks and 3 grandchildren (Chale’, Ethan and Michaela). She was preceded in death by her Parents, Havis and Homer Mckibbens and son Eric Claudis Jacks. She was a Mary Kay consultant for 37 years and loved going to their conventions and conferences, She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Adult Sorority for 30 years and loved attending their monthly and annual social functions where she especially enjoyed selling White House Ornaments to donate their profits to charities. She was a hairdresser in her home for 35 years. She was a member of the Black and Bling Club and loved dressing up in lots of bling and attending their meetings. She was a member of the Mamie Eisenhower Republican Women’s Club. She was actively involved in many projects and programs in Fairfax Baptist Church (one of her favorites was Project Homes for the poor). She enjoyed her 9 cruises (the Alaskan cruise was her favorite). GG also loved scrapbooking and attended Creative Memories weekend scrapbook classes for the past 8 years. She was a real people person, she never met a stranger and loved conversing with everyone she met. She constantly stayed in close touch with her family, customers and many friends, she normally sent Christmas cards out to over 150 people. She loved celebrating special occasions and anniversaries by going out with family and friends. She loved attending her high school and family reunions, going to live entertainment events. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1pm, Friday, March 15, at Fairfax Baptist Church, and a reception will follow in the fellowship hall in the church. We request that all the ladies wear lots of bling to celebrate Gay Nell’s life. In lieu of flowers we request that Donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org).
