We always enjoyed Uncle Herb’s visits when he was in Denver for business!  His contagious smile and giggle would light up your day!  He seemed to know whenever we had big challenges in our lives and would call us up with his support and encouragement.  We miss him dearly, but his Spirit is very much in our hearts!🥰

Dear Lindsley, Amanda, and Mark,
I am so sad to hear of the passing of your father. He was a great friend to my dad and very special to all the neighbors on DeWolfe Drive back in the day, young and old. I have great memories of both your parents, but today I am remembering the tiny little folding bicycle your dad would gleefully ride in the neighborhood Fourth of July parade. He was full of life! And he was one of the most special adults in my childhood. Your mother was another. They were truly a blessing.
I pray for comfort for you all as you remember good times.

Lindsley, Mark, Amanda and extended family,
Your Dad and Mom were such a remarkable couple and friend to so many here in the Northern Neck.  They perfectly complimented each other and always had numerous 'life experience' story to share at bible class each week, which they hosted at their home.   I can hear your Mom with her 'Oh, Herb!' while he cut his twinkling eyes and chuckled back at her.    I'll carry them in my heart forever.
We had them in our prayers this morning at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and after the service, I visited a moment with Georgia.   
It is appropriate that we rejoice.  They are no longer apart.

To my Bruch Cousins, 
I'm so sorry to hear of Uncle Herbs passing.  I always felt blessed and honored  to have him as my Godfather.  He came to his brother Don's house one day and walked around the house and talked funny words, which we learned were German.  He sang oh Tannenbaum in German, I so loved it and his voice.  He sent me a puppet from Germany one year for Christmas, my siblings were jealous.  Herb and Harold were making the rounds through Iowan one year and they stopped by to see me.  I just loved having the twins here. Thier smiles were heartwarming.  Even though I did  not spend enough time knowing him the way I should have, I am ever so grateful to get a bear hug from him.  So to you three, I write my condolences for the loss of your father and may he rest in peace.  Your Iowan cousin, Kris Bruch Nunemaker 

Dear Amanda, Lindsley and Mark,

I am very sorry for the loss of your father.   
Though we have never met, I just wanted to express to you that
Uncle Herb was always my favorite of the Bruch clan and I have very fond memories of when he would visit my mom and Aunt Hertha in Chicago when I was a child; I even remember him in his naval uniform one time, and when he and your Mom came to visit me in California after I had my first of four children.  
He was also there when my Mom died and was a great comfort and support to me at that time.  
To me, he was always special and he always showed me affection and made me feel special.  
Please know that Uncle Herb and you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts go out to the family.  Herb and Dad sounded so alike that if we were not facing them, it was hard to know who was talking. We heard stories of how the twins tried passing themselves off as the other.  The memories of their shared birthday parties in their later years are treasures for all of us.  We will miss Herb but know he is at peace.
