Howard G. Rhile, Jr. passed away suddenly on March 13 in Fairfax, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his children Marita, Mark, and Missy; his sister Julia; and his ten beloved grandchildren.
Howard was the founder of the traditional Irish music group, Síor Og. He served on the City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts for several years and was a member of the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. He helped to promote a new symphony orchestra in the Washington, D.C. area and supported local theater groups. Before his retirement, Howard was a director at the U.S. General Accounting Office.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 am on Monday, March 22 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. For those who wish to honor his memory, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
