JAMES ELMER TERRELL, 79 James Elmer Terrell (Jim), 79, passed away on Thursday, October 5th 2017. Jim was born on April 30, 1938 to Walton and Ethel Terrell in Washington, D.C., where he lived until the family moved to Falls Church, VA in 1949. Jim was the youngest of 5 children. Jim graduated from George Mason High School in 1957. He was in the D.C. National Guard for 8 years and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Jim was an active volunteer in numerous civic and charitable organizations. Jim worked for Braniff Airways, Vega Precision Laboratories, and General Dynamics, prior to retiring in 2006. Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Debbie Brockenbush and her husband Chuck; daughter, Karen Zelonis and her husband Don; grandson, Stephen Adams; granddaughter, Danielle Adams, and grandson, Matt Adams. Jim was predeceased by his parents; sister Beulah Manzon; sister Mary Myers; brother Walton Terrell; and sister Ethel Terrell. The Celebration of Life for Jim Terrell will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, October 13th at the Demaine Funeral Home on 10565 Main Street in Fairfax, VA 22030, with Pastor David Bonnie officiating. Friends may visit with the family, Friday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm prior to the service. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
