

On December 18 Marie Antoinette “Toni” Doyle, of Centreville, VA passed away surrounded by her family at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Born to Charles and Jeanette Vandemeulebroeke of North Haledon, New Jersey. Marie was a graduate of Seton Hall University. Marie worked for Pfizer before marrying John Raymond Doyle, Jr in 1965. John, Marie and family spent several years in Bangkok, Thailand before settling in Centreville, VA. John and Marie also established a second residence in Bethany Beach, DE in 1981. Marie was a life long member of Saint Timothy Catholic Church where she volunteered as a collection counter. For several years, Marie delivered meals on wheels to those in need. Marie is remembered fondly for her many years as a volunteer swim team parent at Chantilly National Country Club where she kept swimmers of all ages organized as the Clerk of the Course. In most recent years, Marie Antoinette or as many came to know her as “Mimi”, could be found cheering her grandchildren and their many teammates on to victory. Beloved wife of the late COL John Raymond Doyle, Jr (Army); devoted mother of John Raymond Doyle, III, Kathleen Doyle Pollock (Thomas), and Ellen Marie Ver Planck (Brian); dear sister of Leon Vandemeulebroeke, and deceased Florence VanWinkle; cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn Pollock, Karleigh Pollock, Colin Pollock, Callie Anne Ver Planck, Claire Pollock and Grace Ver Planck. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 13807 Poplar Tree Rd, Chantilly, VA 20151 at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 2. The family will receive friends at Chantilly Country Club following mass. Interment will be with her husband John at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
