Marvin W. Morthimer, 93, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2015. Born in Lehighton, PA on January 30, 1921, he was the son of the late Warren and Thelma Morthimer and the husband of the late Lorraine Morthimer. Marvin was a WWII veteran with a Purple Heart, a dentist in private practice and a professor of dentistry at Georgetown University. His greatest passion was restoring his WWII jeep so it looked like the ones he remembered seeing in combat during the war.
He is survived by his son, Edward, his daughter-in-law, Pamela, grandson Matthew, granddaughter Michelle, her husband Daniel and their daughter Madison.
Visitation will be at Demaine Funeral Home 10565 Main St. (formerly Everly’s) in the City of Fairfax, On Thursday, January, 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
