Obituary of Mrs. Mary Carmen (Schwartz) McBee
Mrs. Mary Carmen McBee, 41, passed away peacefully November 17, 2019. She was born October 9, 1978 in Rota, Spain. Mary was preceded in death by her son, J.J. She is survived by her husband Neil, her daughters Jillian and Brooke, her parents Gary and Teresa Schwartz and Tim and Maria Kilbourn, and her brother Santi. She was a proud Navy brat and Army wife who enjoyed helping new military wives become acclimated to that life. Mary was a spunky, kind-hearted, and loving mother, wife, friend, etc. She cared for her son J.J. throughout his short life, performing feats that amazed family members and medical professionals alike. She reacted to her own illness and approaching demise with a wonderful sense of humor in remaining socially active with family and friends. Mary taught everyone to smile during times of hardship by finding any available "fun stuff" and enjoying every moment of life. She would help anyone she could, specifically in advocating for other special needs children and families. Mary loved all things Disney and sharing its magic with others. It is believed she drew super strength from being in close proximity to Disney theme parks, as the playful young girl inside her would spontaneously giggle upon arrival and no one could keep up with her once in a park. She was also a dedicated Blockhead, a fan of the New Kids on the Block. If anyone can reach Donnie Wahlberg, she would still appreciate a signed autograph made out to "Mary and J.J." from him and/or all the boys in the band. Per Mary's wishes, her ashes will be kept alongside J.J.'s for as long as her rocking purple urn, engraved with her selected epitaph, "Long Live the Queen!", matches the décor. Everyone is asked to celebrate Mary’s life in their own way. Mary would undoubtedly hope that you will do unexpected and unsolicited acts of kindness for those in need in remembrance of her. A celebration of her life is scheduled for January 4, 2020. Please see below for times and information.
