Paul E. Jones, age 93, of Burke, Virginia passed away on Saturday November 2, 2019.
Paul was born to Dewey and Susie Jones on December 19,1925 in Plant City Florida. He lived in Plant City throughout high school, graduating with the class of 1943. He says after a disagreement with a professor he and a friend enlisted in the Navy. He served as a corpsman during World War II. Following his honorable service to our country, Paul moved to Springfield, Ohio and worked with International Harvester for the next 10 years. He worked as a civilian at Wright-Patterson AFB as a logistics officer, working on the plans for the F-102 and F-104. Following Wright-Patterson he moved to Middletown, PA at Olmstead AFB. It was at Olmstead, Paul met his wife Suzie. They married in 1967. Following Olmstead he was transferred to Kelly AFB in San Antonio, TX. Suzie followed with her sons 4 months later. Together the family moved to Northern Virginia in 1971. Following retirement Paul worked at Sears, in the Service Dept. repairing almost anything. Paul loved camping in his motorhome, as well as golfing and bowling.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Suzie B Wendal Jones, his sons Steve (Jackie) Wendal of Pottstown, PA, Scott (Jodie) Wendal of Collegeville, PA, two daughters Chris and Deb, of Springfield, OH, his grandchildren Matthew, Jeremy, Abbey, Ashley, Megan, Scott Jr., and Amber. 3 great-grandchildren Madison, Austin, and Gavin.
A visitation for Paul will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:50 am at Fairfax Baptist Temple, 6401 Missionary Ln, Fairfax Station, VA 22039. Followed by a Going Home Celebration. A committal service will take place later that day at 4:00 pm at the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery, 54 Church Rd., Mifflin, PA 17058.
