Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Coleen (McGowan) Silvia and the late Raymond Tavares.
April was very much loved by her family, friends and caregivers. She enjoyed music, dancing, laughing and Disney movies.
Surviving in addition to her mother and step father Michael Silvia, are her siblings, Carla Jeanne Gilbert and husband James of Providence, Arlene Amado of New Bedford and Donald R. Tavares of New Bedford; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Bruce W. Tavares and her sister, Teresa Tavares.
