Carol Ann (Casmira) Mercer, age 62, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert Mercer with whom she shared 40 amazing years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (McQuade) Casmira Sr.
Carol was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, class of 1977 and studied at Kinyon Campbell Business School. She worked at United Liquors as an Executive Secretary until she started her family.
Carol loved spending time with her family and friends, especially outdoors in her back-yard on the swings with her daughter Kayce. Family was very important and she was a strong, proud, devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by many.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband, Robert, are her beautiful children whom she truly adored, Kevin Jonathan Mercer and his companion Becky of New Bedford, and Kayce Elizabeth Mercer of Fairhaven; her siblings, Charles Casmira Jr. and his wife Brenda of Oregon, Stephen Casmira and his wife Debbie of S. Carolina, Michael Casmira and his wife Mary Lee of Fairhaven, Kathy A. Casmira of New Bedford, Kevin Casmira and his wife Sheryl of Fairhaven, and the late Gary Casmira and his wife Colleen of Dartmouth, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration Of Life will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, followed by a 7:00pm funeral service in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St. Fairhaven, MA 02719. MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY.
