

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late William and Irene (Howard) McQuade, she grew up in the city, then lived in Dartmouth from 1963 until 2008 when she returned to New Bedford.
In her early years, Eileen was a waitress at the Waldorf Astoria. She then dedicated herself to being a homemaker and was a wonderful Mom and Gram who was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was very active with the Catholic Charities of St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth for many years and also attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairhaven.
Survivors include her son Torleiv L. Haaland and his wife Leslie of Dartmouth, and her daughters Laureen T. Pratt and Eileen H. Haaland of New Bedford; her grandchildren Stephen L. Pratt, Julie L. and Erika L. Haaland, and Torleif K. McNulty; great-grandchildren Kira Elizabeth Pratt and Gavin David Tavares; her sister Frances Harris of McDonough, GA and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late William and Edward McQuade and Mary Casmira.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FARILAWN, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven with a Funeral Service on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 am in Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 Temple Place, Fairhaven followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery.
