Elaine J. Nickerson

Born in Somerville, the daughter of the late Harold A. Nickerson and Emma A. (Gorham) Nickerson, she resided in Fairhaven since 1963.

Mrs. Nickerson was a graduate of Nantucket School Class of 1944 and Taunton Vocational Class of 1959.

She worked as a LPN for 25 years at Parkwood Hospital until her retirement in 1987.

Survivors include her 6 children, Robert L. Nickerson Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Sterling, MA; Ron A. Nickerson and his wife Lorelei of Fitzwilliam, NH; Carl F. Nickerson and his wife Pamela of Wilmington, MA; Peter L. Nickerson and his wife Jane of Fairhaven, MA; Aletha E. Potter and her husband Bruce R. of Fitzwilliam, NH; Pauline M. Fortin and her husband Gerald of Forestdale, MA; a brother, Norman A. Nickerson of Minnesota; 2 sisters, Winifred Mulkern of Oxford ME; Genevieve Soloninka of Oxford, ME; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Harold A. Nickerson, Jr. and Marie Folger.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 2pm at Waring-Sullivan Homes of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven, MA. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11am to 2pm prior to the service. Burial is private.
