George Santos, age 88, of New Bedford, passed away, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in the Southeastern Massachusetts Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Mary (Costa) Santos.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Anibald and Lucy (Goulart) Santos, he was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Santos was employed as a Foreman for a local painting company for most of his life. A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, he enjoyed the company of family and good friends.
He is survived by his three step-children Robert Freitas of Fairhaven, Kenneth Freitas and his wife Debbie of New Bedford and Joyce Brodure of Fairhaven; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and eleven great great-grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 11AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIRLAWN 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
