Louis S. Prevost, Jr.

Louis S. Prevost, Jr., 75, of New Bedford passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Southeastern Massachusetts Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Maria Prevost.

Born in New Bedford a son of the late Louis S. Prevost, Sr. and Doris (Amaral) and her husband John Lucas.

Mr. Prevost attended New Bedford Schools and served in the United States Navy. He was a longtime member of the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford. Louis was an avid hunter and a very skilled and award winning archer.

He is survived by his children, Louis S. Prevost, III of New Bedford, Albert Prevost of Fall River, Angie Prevost of New Bedford, Cheryl Dubord of Tilton, NH and Jeffrey Prevost of New Bedford; two sisters, Jean Souza and Doris Salmi of New Bedford; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Rose Brown.

His funeral service will be Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. in WARING-SULLIVAN HOME of MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery.
