Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Richard DeMoranville, Sr. and his wife Lisa of Fairhaven and Devonne Quintin and her husband Norman of New Bedford.
Richie was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical High School where he studied welding. He was employed by F & B Rubber in New Bedford before starting a career as a dispatcher at RLD Transportation, Inc., where he has worked for many years.
He took great pride in his sons and enjoyed playing basketball with them in his spare time. He was an avid skateboarder, and an exceptional baseball player in his youth, playing in the New Bedford and Fairhaven Little Leagues and the DYA in Dartmouth. Richie was kind, loyal and funny. He believed in family. Many of his cousins consider him more of a brother with stories of adventure and coming of age and laughter. He loved scratch tickets, Memmere’s cream cheese cherry pie, and watching sports. He always supported the underdog, and was loved by so, so many. He had an amazingly big heart and was filled with so much love.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sons, Tyler DeMoranville of Fairhaven and his mother, Stacey LaChappelle; and Jorden DeMoranville of New Bedford and his mother, Ruthie Serpa; one sister, Hope DeMoranville of New Bedford; two brothers; Jeremy and Adam DeMoranville, both of Fairhaven, two step sisters, Christina Sandor Peratos of Ocala, FL and Kimberly Dixon of Las Vegas, NV; a niece, Hailey Arruda of New Bedford; and one grandson, Colton Robert DeMoranville of Dartmouth; his grandmothers, Claire Tetreault of Fairhaven and the late Theodore T. Tetreault.
