Shirley Mendonca

Born in Orono, Maine, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Helena (Southard) Walker she lived most of her life in the area.

Shirley was a member of the former New Bedford Camera Club and the former Fall River Camera Club. She was a gifted photographer and artist. Her family fondly holds on to her many paintings and artwork. For several years, Shirley attended local craft fairs as a vendor selling her gorgeous photographs on note cards, as well as matted and framed photographs.

She is survived by her children, April Rump and her husband William of Fairhaven, Beth Mello and her husband Tony of New Bedford, Cheryl Brine and her husband Douglas Thomas of Acushnet, and Steve Mendonca of Fairhaven; her grandchildren, Brandi Luf, Wade Mello, Cameron Mello, Jaime Mello, Thomas Mendonca, Jessica Mulroy, Alexandria Hartig, and Noah Brine; great grandchildren, Briana Policarpo, Aubrey Mulroy, and Chase Mello; her beloved cat, Cali; and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late, Corey Policarpo and sister of the late Wilfred Walker, Jr. and the late Darrell Walker.
