
Mrs. Walinski was born and raised in Kurume, (Fukuoka) Japan, the daughter of the late Hidetoshi and Mutsuko (Hinagata) Hiratsuka. She was employed as an Assembler of power supplies with Westinghouse and Hewlett-Packard over the course of her lifetime.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Walinski of Huntington Beach, CA; 3 grandchildren Christopher and Matthew Walinski both of Huntington Beach, CA and Jillian Walinski of Dartmouth, MA; 2 brothers Hiroshi and Takehiko Hiratsuka of Japan; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Tatsuhiko, Akio, and Kazushige Hiratsuka.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 12 to 3 pm with a Service of Remembrance at 2:30 pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in the name of Yasuko H. Walinski to the Dr. Michael Davidson Family Fund to support his children. Dr. Davidson is the cardiac surgeon who was tragically killed at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Donations may be made at www.rtn.org/davidsonfund, or by personal check to: Michael J.
