Nicholas D. McKay Sr. 93 of Phoenix Arizona passed away on November 15, 2014. Dad’s favorite sayings were "With hopes and dreams everything is possible" and "Mind over Matter, if you don't mind it won't matter". He blessed a room or a handshake with his class, smile and God-given heart to help people around him. Big shoes are left to fill as a great and loving father, uncle, and friend to many. Nicholas was the inventor of the adhesive tape lint roller way back in 1956. So many have been touched and blessed by his success. There is no way to fill these shoes. Walking beside or behind him is a great achievement. Although his passing is recent, he will always be terribly missed. His smile and love is now remembered by his family, friends, employees and everyone else he helped. Never taking anything, always giving. Good for you Lord to have this champion in your kingdom. Like Dad said "With hopes and dreams everything is possible". God bless our Dad. We are so lucky to have shared his life. The Lord and our Dad are very lucky that they are finally together in Heaven. That's a team we would love to be part of. Nicholas was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his parents, a sister, and four brothers. He leaves behind his children; Nancy McKay, Bill (Jill) McKay, and Nick (Lisa) McKay Jr. and his grandchildren; Billy McKay Jr., Nicholas McKay, Ryan McKay, and Sophie McKay.
Funeral services were held at AL Moore Grimshaw Mortuary in Phoenix, Arizona.
Parastas Prayer Services will be held at 12Noon Monday November 24, at CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn where family will receive friends from 11am until time of services. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park where military honors will be performed by the United States Navy and Fairlawn-Copley VFW Post 7981 .
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Nicholas’ honor to St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church 2552 Pickle Rd. Akron, OH 44312.
