

Ben was born on February 15, 1956 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He suffered from many health issues for years.
Ben worked at American Steel Foundries 1974 to 1982 as a crane operator. He then worked at Betty Sue’s Tavern as a bartender for several years. He tended bars at the Casino Queen Riverboat from 1995 to 2009. He developed many friendships along the way. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing softball with his family and friends on the Nightowls. He loved listening to and watching Elvis Presley songs and movies. He also loved watching and betting on the horses; The Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing was his favorite. Ben was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and would wear and collect the team’s memorabilia. He also loved to play pool back in the day. Most of all he loved his family and friends. Benjamin married the love of his life, Linda Johnson on November 30, 1974.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Sr. and Irene Snyder; his in-laws, Charles and Martha Johnson; brothers, Nicholas Johnson, George Fender; sisters, Janet Johnson, Martha Kay White, and Marjorie Johnson; brothers, Ted Adams, George Snyder, Scoots Snyder; his great-nephew Kyle Fender; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda (Johnson) Snyder; his son, William D. Snyder; two grandchildren, Gavin (Paige) and Gabby Snyder; great-granddaughter, Violet Grace; his siblings, Cheryl Braddy, John Braddy, Sharon (George) Fender, Thomas Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Robert (Michelle) Johnson, Steve Johnson; his special double nephew, Charlie Boy (Jenny) Johnson; special sister cousins, Theresa Overby and Mary Adams.

VISITATION: A visitation for Benjamin will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
SERVICE: A funeral service will be held Monday, August 23, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
