

Mr. Hill proudly served his country in the United States Army and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a painter all of his life after serving in the military. He was a loving family man who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Glenn Hill; a niece, Jessica; and a brother, Gary Hill.
Surviving are his wife, whom he married on November 29, 1997, in Cahokia, Janice R. Lakin- Hill, nee Bennett, of Percy, Illinois; his mother, Wilma Hill, of Odin, Ill.; two sons, Rodney Hill, of Odin, Ill. and Billy Gene Hayes, of Salem, Ill.; a daughter, Candace (Chris Smith) Hensley, of Centralia, Ill.; two step daughters, Judith (Kevin) Renth, of O’Fallon, Ill. and Alice Roedl, of Indiana; three step-sons, James C. (Tammy Prestito) Lakin of St. Jacob, Ill., Donald (Carol) Lakin, of Cahokia, Ill., and Henry R. (Debra) Lakin, II, of East Carondolet, Ill.; two sisters, Tina (Stan) Griffith, of Odin, Ill. and Ronda (Glynn) Bookout- Faith, of Centralia, Ill; and a brother, Tom Hill, of Carlyle, Ill.; his granddaughters, Jennifer Carnes, Jessica Carnes, Dawn Godena, Adielyn Hensley, and Gracie Jean Smith; a grandson, James R. Carnes and many other grandchildren; and his special great granddaughter, Josey Sioux Howell.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
