Carl Lester Williams

Carl was raised with three brothers, Dalton, Charles and James; one sister, Mary Lou, two half brothers, Kenneth and Richard and a half sister, Sandy. After graduating high school, Carl went on to join the United States Air Force. After an honorable discharge, he worked for General Motors from where he retired.

On October 8, 1954, he married the love of his life, Martha Carlyle, who passed away in 2014. Together they raised five children, three sons and two daughters.

He loved tinkering in his shed and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his close friend, Sandy Wood.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Jesse Williams; his loving wife, Martha Williams; his son, Randy Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Carol (David) Thorn, Jeff (Sheri) Williams, Steve (Angie) Williams) and Dina (Dave) Stidham; fifteen grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, Michael, Jason, Travis, Dustin, Austin, Savannah, Jacob, Rachael, Sarah, Rebecca, Adam, Connor and Ethan; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his close friend and caretaker, Art Edmondson and his very close friend, Sandy Wood.

A visitation for Carl will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A funeral service will occur at 12:00 PM, following the visitation. A committal service will take place following the service. Carl will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
