

Carroll “Rick” Ricketts, age 81 of Belleville, IL, passed away on December 22, 2018. He was born on June 14, 1937 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Carroll and Henrietta Ricketts. On March 9, 1957 Rick married his loving wife Charleen in Belleville, IL on March 9, 1957.
During his life Rick served two years with the United States Army at Ft. Hood in Killeen, TX. He retired as a maintenance worker from Scott Air Force Base. Rick was commonly seen hanging with friends at the Town Hall Archery, and the Moose Lodge in Swansea. He was a member of the Gear Jammer Car Club. He was also an active participant in the Ft. Charter Reenactments and enjoyed learning history about Native Americans, French settlers, and Frontiersmen. Most of all, Rick will be forever remembered as a genuine person who was passionate about his family, especially his grandchildren.
Preceding Rick in passing are his parents, his daughter, Peri Hogrebe, and his brother, Gordon Ricketts.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Charleen; son, Scott (Judy) Ricketts; son-in-law, Stan Hogrebe; grandchildren, Amanda Ricketts, Allison Ricketts, Ashley Hogrebe, Nick (Lauren) Hogbre, Madison Hogrebe; siblings, Ross Ricketts, Collin Ricketts, Janice (nee) Ricketts, and Marietta Ricketts, along with various extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be gifted to a charity of choice.
