Charles Otto Winker

Charles Otto Winker, 90, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born August 10, 1932, the son of Harold and Cornelia (Lauenstein) Winker. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army.

He grew up on his family Dairy Farm (WinWig Dairy) in Belleville, Il. After leaving the family farm, he and his wife, Jean opened an art Gallery (Winker Gallery) in the Chicago area, including Naperville and Wheaton. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and three children, and spending time with his family. He moved to St. Charles, MO after his wife of 45 years passed away to be closer to family.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Steven Winker (Alaska), Suzanne Costanza (St. Charles) and Stephanie Owen (California); grandchildren, Ryan Winker, Mario (Tomoko) Costanza, Matthew (Lydia) Costanza, Samantha Owen, and Kayla Owen; great-grandchildren, Sophie Costanza; siblings, Jane Schupbach, David Winker, Edna Louise Lenz, Mary Ellen Seltenreich and Beverly Scranton

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, E. Jean Winker, and 2 sisters, Gladys Ord and Corneila (Nell) Meyerholtz.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:00am with Pastor Harvey Gaither officiating. A visitation prior to the service will begin at 10:00am. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
