Chong Ae Johnston

Chong Ae was born in South Korea to her late parents, Yong Sun Kim and Kwi Tal Kim. Chong Ae lived in South Korea where she met her husband of 32 years, Randy Johnston. They moved to Wood River, IL where they lived happily. Chong Ae dedicated her time to being a loving wife to her “yobo,” always putting others before herself, and lighting up a room with her beautiful smile.

Chong Ae was a compassionate, caring, responsible, kind-hearted, and good-humored wife, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening in her spare time. She also loved doing anything to make her little Chihuahuas happy. Chong Ae was always looking out for others. Her family meant more to her than anything.

Chong Ae was also preceded in death by her brother, Jae Wan Kim, and her mother-in-law, Mary Johnston.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Johnston; her sisters, Chong Suk Kim and Na Yeon Kim; her brother, Jae Soo Kim; her brothers and sisters-in-law, and her many nieces and nephews.

Chong Ae Johnston’s viewing will be on June 15, 2015 from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. A service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. All are welcome to join in celebrating Chong Ae’s life.
