Mr. Filter was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Gladys, nee Wilson, Filter; two brothers, Thomas and William Filter; and a sister Betty Knox.

Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Irene Filter, nee Loerch, of Granite City, Illinois; his children, David (Angie) Filter, of Granite City, Illinois and Sherri (Martin) Heiler, of Granite City, Illinois; his grandchildren, Zachary, Danielle, James, Jack, and Meagan; three great grandchildren,Dalton Lilly and Elijah; his brothers, Robert, Richard, and Martin “Junior” Filter; a sister, Mary Jane Vincent; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
