OBITUARY

David Allan Greenfield

20 January, 1959 – 13 February, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Lake View Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens

David Allan Greenfield, age 67, of Fairview Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at his residence. He was born on January 20, 1959, in East St. Louis, IL to the late Clyde and Loretta (nee Williams) Greenfield.

David was an avid NASCAR fan and loved when race day came around. His all-time favorite driver was Jeff Gordon, and no one could tell him any different.

David met his soulmate back in 1978 and was fortunate enough to spend the next 48 years loving her. They have since had two children and six grandchildren. Everyone who ever spoke to him would hear about how proud he was and how wonderful his children were and what amazing grandchildren they gave him too. He loved to watch his children grow into adults and also find the love of their lives. He adored every one of his grandchildren and being able to see them turn into incredible people brought him great joy.

Preceding David in death were his parents, Clyde and Loretta Greenfield and his dear sister Diane (nee Greenfield) Phillips.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy Greenfield (nee Dobbs); his two children Josh (Jessica) Greenfield and Katie (Chris) Freeland; his cherished grandchildren Jasmine (Garrett) Monroe, Ethan (Ellie Doolittle) Smith, Jayden Greenfield, Caiden Freeland, Kolten Freeland, and Keagen Freeland; two brothers Michael (Madonna) Greenfield, Daniel “Boonie” (Melissa) Greenfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and his three loving cats Nucky, Bella, and Snickers.

The family has chosen to respect David’s wishes and there will be no service. If you would like to make a donation in his memory, please donate to The Wounded Warrior Project or Belleville Area Humane Society.
