Donald Phillip Koenig

Donald joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served for 21 years. He served during the Vietnam War in the Gulf of Tonkin.

Was awarded (5) Bronze Stars for Good Conduct. The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal and The Vietnam Campaign Metal.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Meta Leafa Koenig, nee Moe and his parents Arthur and Hilda Koenig, nee Reeb.

Surviving are his five children, Arthur (Etta) Koenig of Honolulu, HI. Tony (Paulettee) Koenig of Smithton, IL. Carol (Leland) Heidegger of LeCenter, WA. Donald (Mary) Koenig of Brush Prairie, WA and Robert (Loraine) Koenig of Vancouver, WA. Twelve grandchildren, Sinafea Heise, Fiasili (Tony) Melleninger, Adam Koenig, Anthony (Sarah) Koenig, Alex (Aimee) Koenig, Emmet Heidegger, Emma Leafa Koenig, Chris (Cecilia) Koenig, Gabriel Koenig, Joseph Koenig, Martin Koenig and Taimalelagi Koenig also two great grandchildren Statler Koenig and Sione Koenig and a brother Arthur Koenig of Swansea, IL
