Mrs. Wooden grew up in Seattle, Washington, and also lived in Fairbanks, Alaska. She spent 10 years in Kihei, Maui, before moving to Illinois in 1991.
Her husbands predeceased her, Elwin Joe Shaw and Lee D. Wooden, as well as her son, John Shaw. She is survived by her loving partner of 18 years, Gene Buxton. Donna is also survived by her daughter, Vicki (Greg) Sensiba of Sequim, Washington; her grandchildren, Steven Sensiba, Shannon (Joel) Hoffman, and David (Amy) Sensiba; and six great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by members of Gene’s family, David (Uliana) Buxton and Doug (Jane) Buxton, who showed her immense love and kindness throughout the years.
A memorial gathering for family and friends to honor Donna will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, located at 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM. After the services, a gathering will be held at Bella Milano Restaurant in O'fallon, IL. Please continue to share your stories about Donna.
