

Eddie attended East Side High School and graduated in the class of 1957. He later became of pipefitter and worked for the Local 101, from which he retired after 34 years. Eddie was one of the founding members of Southern Illinois Street Rod Association and mascot of Lincoln Land Customs. He was also a member of Piston Pushers, Lakers and 100 Mile Per Hour Club. Eddie has a passion for building and showing cars, motorcycles. He also loved to travel.
Eddie was preceded I death by his parents, Frank and Millie Lepold.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheri (Ron) Battles of Fairview Heights, IL; son, Steve (Vickie) Lepold of Swansea, IL; grandchildren, Chad Klucker of Belleville, IL, Ross (Robin) Klucker of Belleville, IL, Alex (Jarrett) Leatherwood of Belleville, IL and Arthur (Audrey) Martin of Atoka, TN; great grandchildren. Carl, Jordon, Tyler, and Danny; brother Frank (Della) Lepold of Baltimore, MD; sister, Betty James of Florida; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. We sadly say good-bye to our dad and best friend.
In lieu of flowers, the Lepold/Battles family asks that you make memorial donations to Hospice of Southern Illinois in Eddie Lepold’s name.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00am to 1:00pm at Lake View Memorial Gardens, 5000 N. Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. There will be a funeral service at 1:00pm with the committal to follow.
