Edward Roy Love

Mr. Love proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, in the Vietnam War and retiring after 22 years of service. He enjoyed spoiling his granddaughters, bowling, fishing, and playing softball. He also enjoyed watching the bald eagles at Pere Marquette, Illinois, traveling and taking vacations with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.T. Love, Sr. and his mother, Trudy Hall, nee Gyhsens; and a brother, James Love.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jane Love, nee Jones; his children, Geri (Larry) Thompson, of Granite City, Illinois and Steven Love, of Affton, Missouri; his grandchildren, Chelsea Love, Haley Thompson, and Christopher Thompson; a brother, Jay (Leann) Love; two sisters, Sharon Love and Cassandra Love; sisters-in-law, Carol (Danny) Kleve and Vivian (Wyatt) Weathers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, in St. Louis, Missouri.
