

He was born in East St. Louis on November 2, 1931, the son of late Edward J. and Anna (Stelzer) Musser.
He married Patricia Ann Earle from East Saint Louis on May 29, 1956 at St. Elizabeth's Church in East St. Louis. She preceded him in death on December 20th, 2012.
Edward worked for the railroad as a yard clerk, carryall driver, and later a janitor for the A&S railroad which was part of the yard clerk’s job assignments. He also served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge and a Purple Heart Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal W/2*, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was WIA (wounded in action) on March 27, 1953 where he received the Purple Heart. He was an avid member of the VFW and served as Commander. After being relieved of his commander duties he still loved visiting for games and karaoke nights. He enjoyed singing. He was a former member of St. Albert the Great Church which became Holy Trinity in Fairview Heights.
He is survived by two children, Michele (Jay) Albertina of Collinsville, and Michael Musser of Fairview Heights, four grandchildren Nikki (Chris) Tanner, Ashley Musser, Danielle Albertina, and Lauren Albertina; four great grandchildren Blake, Devin and Isaac Tanner and Jackson Siener, a brother William (Pat) Musser; four nieces and nephews Kathy (Mike) Quirk, Bill (Carol) Musser Jr., Kevin (amy) Musser, and Mark (Angie) Musser.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son Thomas Earle Musser.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights.
Memorials may be made to The Illinois Patriot Guard or Family Hospice.
