George "Gerry" Gerald Duff

Gerry was born October 12, 1939 in Ft. Dodge, IA to George Scott and Norma Duff.

He married Roberta June Scarborough and she preceded him in death on June 2, 2011.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons, Wesley Scott Duff and Cody James Duff.

Gerry is survived by his children, Tamme Marggraf (significant other, Garnet Marsh) of West Virginia, Jodie Gibbs of Collinsville, IL, Scott (Shannon) Duff of Caseyville, IL; Zachary (Lauren) Gibbs of Ankeny, IA, Rebeca (fiancé Daniel Veerkamp) Gibbs of Ft. Wayne, IN, Brendan Duff of Caseyville, IL, Aleah Duff of Caseyville, IL and Meridian Garcia of Denver, CO; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Cundiff and Juniper Gibbs.

Gerry worked as the Superintendent of Metro East Levy and Sanitary District for 40+ years. He was a member of the Laborers Local 100 and Teamsters Local 50. He also was a trustee & volunteer firefighter for the Hollywood Heights Fire Department for over 20 years. In years past, he was an active member of the Lakers Car Club, Piston Pushers Car Club, Hollywood Heights Bass Masters and Caseyville Democrat Club.

Gerry was a Master Mason of Masonic Lodge #504 in East St. Louis, IL, AF&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner at the Ainad Temple.

He loved to fish and always enjoyed his time on the water, especially at Lake Barkley in Kentucky. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial donations may be made to the Metro East Humane Society, for Gerry’s love of all animals.

VISITATION: A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation an hour prior to the service, from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
