

Mr. Hessling was a member of the Cahokia Moose Lodge and Teamster’s Local 688. He enjoyed bingo, wrestling, trains, westerns, and dancing. He collected coins and metal 1:24 model cars. He was a family man, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Polly, nee Brockwell, Hessling; four brothers, Everett, Aubrey, Leonard, and Eugene Hessling; and a sister, Hazel Driscoll.
Surviving are his loving wife Doris Jolene Hessling, nee Davis, of Granite City, Illinois; a son, George S. (Carolyn) Hessling, of Cahokia, Illinois, a daughter, Beverly C. Lee, of St. Ann, Missouri; his step-children, Barbara (John)Winfield, of Naples, Florida, Tory (Vickie) Myers, of Hollywood, Alabama, and Dawn Galavotti, of Tampa, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jarrod (Renee) Hessling, Christopher Hessling, Andrea Lee, Tasha Robertson, Dr. Robert (Stacey)Winfield, Nicole Winfield, Alex Winfield, Whitney Winfield, and Rebecca (Jamie)Mickens; 12 great grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas, Annabelle, Brittany, Taylor, Devin, Cora, Kendall, Ava, Reed, Jake, and Jolie; a sister, Vivian “Grace” (Ralph) Davis, of Sikeston, Missouri,; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
