

Janice Rubylee Thomas, 91, of O’Fallon, Illinois, passed away on February 4th, 2025. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 22nd, 1933, to Benjamin and Dorothy (Gibson) Cosby. Janice received Christ at the age of 12 in 1945. She spent most of her life in Chicago, Illinois and lived for shorter periods in Streamwood, IL and O’Fallon, IL.
During her lifetime, Janice attained a certification as a Licensed Beautician and was a Supervisor with the United States Post Office for 30 years. Throughout her life, she was devoted to her family and extremely generous to those around her. Janice enjoyed her many travels with her daughter to such wonderful places and sights, her love of delicious sweets and candies, being the “snack lady” to her two pets, and having the reputation of the “Jazzy Grandma”.
She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, husband, and sister.
Janice is survived by daughter, Deborah Ann Thomas of O’Fallon, Illinois, son William (Theresa) Thomas III of Chicago, Illinois, son Kenneth (Pamela) Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, granddaughter, Candyce (Jason) Bell of O’Fallon, Illinois, grandson Glen Jupiter, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, granddaughter Chalyce Dabner of Chicago, Illinois, granddaughter Tenille Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia, granddaughter Tremaine Thomas of New Orleans, Louisiana, grandson Patrick Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, grandson Kentrell Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, grandson Marshawn Davis of Chicago, Illinois, great-grandson Austin Hurd, Jr. of O’Fallon, Illinois, and great-granddaughter Ryan Graham of Chicago, Illinois.
A Private Graveside Service will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Memorials may be made in her memory to ASPCA, St. Jude Children Hospital, Shriners Hospital, or Wounded Warrior Project.
