Joan Catherine Wright

Joan Catherine Wright, nee Renois, 79, of Swansea, Ill., formerly of Joliet, Ill., born January 21, 1932 in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill., with her loving children at her side.

Our Mom was devoted to Dad, John J. “Jack” Wright who preceded her in death after 57 years of marriage. She will also be

greeted in heaven by her father, Adrian Edward Renois and her mother, Theresa Frances Renois, nee Vollmer and a younger brother Billy along with her many previous family pets.

Surviving are her three sons, John A. (Patricia) Wright, William L. (Michelle) Wright, David L. Wright and two daughters, Teresa L. (Michael) Sylvester and Kathy Wicevic; a step-mother, Margaret Renois; 13 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren

Our Mom loved to cook and was the best. In earlier years, she worked alongside our Grandma “Tess” who was the owner of Beef & Bun Grill on State Street, East St. Louis, Ill. She attended St. Theresa’s Academy. Prior to her enjoying retirement and friends at the Grand Manor, mom was an active gardener, painter, fisher-woman and an active bingo player. Her many family and friends will greatly miss her daily phone calls and wonderful conversations.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Inurnment of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Upon Joan’s request, cremation was to be held.
