

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oles and Bernice (Cook) Branyan, a sister Flossie Burns, and brothers, Billy Branyan, WG Branyan, and Donald Branyan. She was also proceeded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Loran James Whitten, who passed away on May 8, 2001.
Joann is survived by a son, Jim (Elvia) Whitten of Pflugerville, Texas, a daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Raymond of Belleville, Illinois, and daughter Janice Connell of St. Louis, Mo. She had seven grandchildren, Jamie (Troy) Cox, Amber (Michael) Hopkins, Kory (fiancé Keisha), Ashley (Steven) Tipton, Andrew Whitten, Carmen Whitten, and Jimmy Whitten. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Camden Cox, Harper Hopkins, Reese Hopkins, Kameron Raymond, Kaliannah Raymond and Kash Raymond. She is also survived by her sister Cindy Sellers, brother Keith Branyan, and brother Randy Branyan.
During her lifetime, Joann had worked at JC Penney for over 20 years and was a volunteer in the Auxiliary Department at Memorial Hospital for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed being with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her passion was serving others.
