

John was the operator of Zitta Vending Company. John was a hard working family man. He enjoyed time spent at the family’s lake house on Lake Egypt. He and his wife loved to travel and take cruises, seeing the sights of the world. He never met a stranger, making fast friends with everyone he met throughout his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Slava and Pauline, nee Nemec, Zitta and three brothers, Albert, Daniel, and Jerome Zitta and granddaughter Kassey Rose Massey.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Zitta, nee Jorns, of Swansea, Illinois; his children, Tracy (Ken) Duggins, of St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Steven (Sandra) Zitta, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Craig W. (Peggy) Zitta, of Troy, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Brockhahn, Craig R. Zitta, Brittany (Andrew) Evans, Sadie (Ward) Cochran, Mark (Nichole) Massey, Bailey (Michael) French, and John-Paul (Kelsey) Zitta; great-grandchildren, Morgan and MackenzieEvans, Carrington and Ella Cochran, Aiden and Kaela Brockhahn Miley and Allison French; a brother-in-law, David (Cindy) Jorns; and his Godson, Brett Grueber.
