

Joseph, also known as “Joe” to family and friends was joy to anyone who knew and loved him. He was born in Nadeau, MI and was the youngest of 6 children. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, during World War II. He married the love of his life, Betty Jane Gregory, in December of 1941. This beautiful union brought three children, Larry, Ray and Sharon. Shortly after serving his country he found work at Pfizer’s, in East St Louis. He worked there as a millwright foreman for almost 40 years, until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, growing his own vegetables, tending to his home (especially his lawn) and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the VFW Post #1117 in Caseyville, IL, the American Legion Post #365 and a devoted member of St Stephen Catholic Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Jane DuPont, his son; Lawrence DuPont, his parents; Eli and Rosanna (nee Perras) DuPont, and 5 siblings.
Surviving him are his children; Raymond (Dani) DuPont, of Eustis, FL and Sharon DuPont-Kuhn, of Witchita Falls, TX, his grandchildren; Wayne (Jennifer) Perkins, Dena (Bob) Vecchetti, Terri (Jim) DuPont-Frank, Ryan (Dawn) DuPont, Timothy Kuhn, and Karly (Aaron) Franton, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a number of dear relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends and family may visit from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home. 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
Funeral Service: Funeral Services will be held the following day at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home. Interment to take place in Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
