He was born in Oakland CA on September 17, 1958, son of the late Mariano Guerrero Taitano and the late Rosaline Flores (Cruz) Taitano.
In 1982, Mariano enlisted in the United States Air Force, retiring in 2002 at the rank of Technical Sergeant. Desiring to serve others after his military time, he went back to school, training and certifying as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
He was an active volunteer in church ministries. He was all about family and loved spending time with them, especially reading and playing with his grandchildren. He was an avid college football fan. Go Seminoles!
In addition to his wife of 35 years, Mary, he is survived by his son, Adam Taitano (wife Tina) of Williford AR, daughter Sarah Svendsen (husband Dave) of Washington DC, son David Taitano of O’Fallon IL and seven grandchildren (Abishai, Boaz, Cyrus, Daniel, Enoch, Eliora, and Juliana). He is also survived by his sisters Nola Kissell and Pearl Taitano of AR, Ivy Poe (husband Wendell) and Candy Hartley of OR, and Cheryl Jahier (husband Rob) of HI.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Rosalynn Marie.
