Robert L. Riddle

Robert L. Riddle, 83, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born November 23, 1927, in Calhoun County, West Virginia, died October 15, 2011, peacefully at home in Charles Gardens Retirement Community, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Mr. Riddle was active in his Mormon faith, serving as both an elder and treasurer, with the Waterloo, Illinois Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America and Teamsters Local 506. He loved to garden and enjoyed the outdoors. He had a big heart, and was considered a friend to all and to all a friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Sarah, nee Hamrick, Riddle; his loving wife, Pauline, nee Finley, Riddle; his brothers, Richard, Ronald, and Truman (in infancy) Riddle; two sisters, Helen and Icy .

Surviving are his children, Rob (Richie) Riddle, and Sharon (Mark) McGinnis, Tammie (Paul) Moses; seven grandchildren, Chae Li Yong, Kenny (Carrie) Riddle, Tabitha Langford, Paul James Riddle, Robbie Riddle, Christian Riddle, and Madison Riddle; three great grandchildren, Dominic, Leanna, and Victoria; a brother, Lyle (Julie) Riddle; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
