Robert "Sonny" E. Eugea

“Sonny” Robert E. Eugea, 77, of Edwardsville, Illinois, formerly of Washington Park, Illinois, born January 28, 1936, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at University Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Edwardsville, Illinois.

Sonny was formerly employed by Uni-Fab Steel in East St. Louis, Illinois and a driver for Renzenberger/MilePost Transportation, Inc. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jeanette, nee Jordan, Eugea; his first wife, of 32 years, Helen Eugea, nee Burnett-Hagen; his second wife, Helen Eugea, nee Smith; a daughter, Jackie Robinson; a son-in-law, Victor Robinson; and two sisters, Etna Laughton and Mary Tomaszewski; and a brother, John Eugea.

Surviving are his grandchildren, Debbie (Bob) McMillian, of Glen Carbon, Ill.; Vicki Sedlacek, of Tarpon Spring, Fla.; and Mark Robinson, of Clearwater, Fla.; his great grandchildren, Jeffrey (Shannon) McMillian, Justin McMillian, Jarod (Krystal) McMillian, Charlie Robinson, Marcus Robinson, Colby Robinson, and Pamela Robinson; great grandchildren, Carter, Parker, Avery, and Mackenzie; his four brothers, Walter (Carren) Eugea, of Cahokia, Ill., James (Vicki) Eugea, of Edwardsville, Ill., Joseph (Robin) Eugea, of Cahokia, Ill., and William (Connie) Eugea, of Wichita, Kansas; and two sisters, JoAnn (Charles) Woods, of Troy, Ill. and Velda Halterman, of Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral: Services will be held at Noon, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
