Roberta Genetti Bauer Edwards

Mrs. Edwards was an avid card player, especially bridge. She also loved to travel, bowl, golf, and spend time with her family. She volunteered with the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that will truly be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Mary, nee Osredkar, Genetti; her loving first husband, William A. Bauer; and her sisters, Rosemary Connors, Irene McAdoo, Margaret Corcoran, Constance Allan, and Isabelle Genetti.

Surviving are her second husband, William Edwards, her children, William “Bill” (Sue) Bauer, of Redmond, Washington, Jane (Daniel) Smith, of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Peck, of Ballwin, Missouri, and Patricia (Donn) Wilber, of Escondido, California; her five grandchildren, Diane (Chris) Sawall, Steve Smith, Eric (Tanya) Bauer, Lisa (Kevin) Zobrist, and Shannon Peck; two great grandchildren, Aidan and Aliana.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2012, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be held privately in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
