

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter for many years and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 169. He later worked as a lab technician for Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri; where he cared for the primates. He loved and cared for the monkeys, knowing their names and preparing special foods for them. He also loved his two cats, Mittens and Maggie, who were part of the family. He cherished the time spent in Florida Jetties, with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid stargazer. He was a loving son, step-father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Gladdue, nee Culiberk; a granddaughter, Bethany L. Budwell; and his father, William J. Gladdue.
Surviving are his mother, Elsie “Corrine” Gladdue, nee Griffin; his sister, Cathy (Sam) Smith, of Aviston, Illinois; a brother, William C. (Lisa) Gladdue, of Sarasota, Florida; his step-children, Jamie (Barry) Budwell, of Marine, Illinois, Jennifer (Brooks) Perry, of St. Marys, West Virginia, and Jessica Seal, of Granite City, Illinois; grandchildren, Ashley, Christine, Rachel, Ryleigh, Ermaleen, Jessica, Chandra, Daniel, and Emily; a great grandson, Landon Nutter; nieces and nephews, Tracy Shaw-Baum, Benjamin (Emily McDonald) Shaw, Gina (Frank) Spadavecchio, and Chris (Amy) Gladdue, Desiree (Chris) Grennal, and Matthew (Brittney) Smith; great nieces and nephews, Stella, Sean, Colin, Max, Mia, Bristol, Delaney, and Gaige; his special friend, Rose Nersesian; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
