He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Millie Mae, nee Matt, Stanton; a step-daughter, Sandy Phillips; and a step-granddaughter, Sara Phillips.

Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Wanda R., nee Pettypool, Stanton; his children, Rhonda (Wade) Miller, Rebecca (Robert) Capkovic, and Timothy Stanton; step-children, Barbara (Jack) Brown, William (Donna) Petty, Phyllis (Jimmy) Weeks, and Ronda (Steven) Harmon; a grandchild; 10 step-grandchildren; many step great-grandchildren; and also many loving extended family members.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Lake View Funeral Home with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Entombment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Mausoleum, Fairview Heights, Ill.
